I would like to wish all teachers, supporting staff and most of all my beloved students (boys) of SMK La Salle PJ "Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri".

Have a safe journey "balik kampung"
and for those who are in PJ or KL catch up with your unsettled business and school work.

Happy holidays.

Thanks BLOGGER.

Away for a few days, working. The "boys" have to be reminded that
they are loved/attended to/cared/ remembered/"what else you may call"
but the girls are always in the heart.

Hope you're all fine and ready to face the last lap. PMR,SPM and STPM
candidates prepare and do your best.

See, when i say "all", i refer to the students; not the teachers'cos they can take care of themselves.

See you later. Bye.

Dear Sir, I was only kidding bout the girls part. We here at La Salle PJ had hardly heard from you ever since you left. So whats the latest?
Best regards

Hei "angels" and "angelites"(my boys and girls). Miss the school life alot but it's a relief to be out of the government service.

Now I'm in MAHSA College, just a few hundred inches from UM and UH. There're about 2500 students ranging from radiography, physiotheraphy, environmental health, nursing and very soon they'll launch the medical degree too.

They can smoke anything, everything
and anywhere. They can choose to clad on a piece of rag as their daily attire. Nobody questions them
Hair! Hair! Hair! You must see to believe. Porcupines, racoons, baboons, gorillas all put in one. Some of them pierce every sq. inch of their faces. I JUST KEEP QUIET.

Different person here. Totally different. Lasallians have trained me up to live up with all the different circumstances and situations. Thanks La Salle.

My regards and love to all. Bai.

Anonymous said...

Mr.Raj...Mr.Raj!!!!
SO glad to hear frm you. since its totally different in MAHSA compare to LSPJ.. I think its just like part of growing up.. have to adapt to different kind of environments.

we lasallians really admire your 'effective leadership' sometimes we dont like it but...Hey!! it works!!
ITs like ISA being use for the right things..haha

Anonymous said...

Means theres less time for Teh Tarik now!! hahaa
but PJ Hills is just nearby..

Anonymous said...

I Serve All (ISA), that was the philosophy and principle i adhered
to while in La Salle. Punishment was coupled with love, affection and admiration.

"Wow, my boys are capable of resorting to such extreme measures.
They will someday, somehow, some -where be successful in life."

We in La Salle teach you to face the world. A Lasallian can survive
anywhere. That was how the school was run......i couldn't go round telling everyone. In La Salle you get a HOLISTIC education; and that makes us different from other schools.

Well, teh tarik... I still frequent
my favourite haunts; and bumb into my boys and girls. If anyone sees me in any restaurant, don't hesitate; join me for a drink. Bai.

Anonymous said...

The DAP version of ISA is probably 'I Served Ages'.hahaa
No one can replace you sir. no one!!
There were sooooo much that you didn't have to do...but you still did..for us, for la salle pj.
You've so much for us even though you were a civil servant.

Sir, we here have high respect for you. Have you thought of starting your very own blog?
It'll probably be the LSPJ's version of chedet.com..very popular and a great way to connect to students..
Just a thought
Best regards

Anonymous said...

Yes mister Raj. please start a blog.
i support you sir!

Anonymous said...

Hip hip hurray!! We gonna have a new blogger. haha
http://mrraj.blogspot.com
sir, you'll reach 1000 comments in no time!!

Anonymous said...

Dai. I enjoy browsing this blog. I'm all the time with you, in the spirit of La Salle. I get connected
with all of you through this blog, lets keep this blog going. One is enough.

Let's learn from experience. Look at UMNO; PAS, PKR, Semangat 46 started........ MCA; Gerakan, DAP..
MIC; PPP, IPF......started because the members were seeking for"seats"
They should have fully focused into
developing, changing and improving their own "parent" body. But instead they disintegrated. WE DON'T BE LIKE THEM.

We have a blog, we'll develop and support this La Salle PJ blog. Thank you for the suggestion and the love and confidence you all have in me. Thank you. Miss all of you.

Most of the evenings i'm in school;
taking care of the school badmnton
courts and trying very hard to raise more money for school. I'm still dreaming of the sports complex. It will come true one day. The sad thing is that the Lasallians who had supported me will not be around to see it or use it.

We need the support of all. The Board of Governors will see the project through. The Brothers will
support us. We need MONEY. I've kept away the canteen day's profits in the Board's account.

I've to go now. My bosses are around. See you later. Bai.

Anonymous said...

"I've to go now. My bosses are around. See you later"

Back in la salle, it was "Gotta go now, Raj coming"... *starts running*
those were the good old days la..

Anonymous said...

The sports complex in costly furthermore, we lasallians (rift-rafts) may not appreciate it as much as we should. unlike Katholik High
where Ministers and tycoon's children go to. The last anak tycoon we had in lspj was Chan Tat Eu.. son of Tan Sri Chan Ah Chye.
Im afraid it would be a White Elephant.. just my thoughts..

Mr.Raj is indeed indisputably

Sir I think you know who I am.

Its the rainy season now.. And its better to all stand under one big umbrella rather than each having a cap.
There's alot we can learn from Mr.Raj
He'll be more than happy to share!!

Anonymous said...

I feel somewhat like browsing at chedet.com when Im here..just waiting to see what Mr.Raj has to say to us. He was like a father to us.

Anonymous said...

They always say that to the man's heart is through his stomach. Any man will fall flat at any woman who can cook like his mother, feed him well, nurse him and love him.
And you boys also can touch my heart and make me "melt" with your kind words and soothing phrases. Rascals.

Well, I'm an Assistant Registrar here. I'm answerable to the CEO, GM, Registrar and the Board of Directors. I'm the overall-in-charge here (PJ Campus ). Nothing different from what I've been doing all my life.

Regarding the "white elephant"; well, I respect your view (it can turn out to be as you anticipated).
We need a sports gym and an indoor gym to cater for the needs of our lasallians. We need to give them a better playing ground. Will keep them away from alllllll forms of mischiefs. Think about it. Probably
you boys can come up with suggestions to raise funds for the sports gym.

I'll sign off for the time being, not 'cos my bosses are around; well
they're not here breathing down my neck. Going for a walk.

An invitation to all; come and drop
in here for a drink or lunch. call me first. I'll be too glad to be your host. Bai.

Anonymous said...

Good afternoon sir,
I heard that the school collected less funds from the Treasure Hunt compared to the Canteen Days in previous years. Is there any truth in it?
Thanks Sir

Anonymous said...

Rascals indeed we are.. hahaha
ALways a pleasure to your posts here sir. Yes the sports complex wud definitely be a great place to play.. also reducing mischief.haha

Anonymous said...

Was raining heavily, couldn't get here earlier.
SIr, hope you don't get back into smoking again. Seeing all the porcupines in MAHSA puffing away...one may be tempted.. haha
My Best regards to you and family.

Anonymous said...

No No No No I dont smoke it no more,
Im tired of waking up on the floor
No thank you please
It only makes me sneeze
Then it makes me hard to find the door!!

ahahhah I love this song!!
I think some la sallians smoke any damn thing they can find.
judging by d way they pick up the Asam Jawa frm all ova skol n strt eating in class.

Anonymous said...

Oh!! mr.Raj is overall in-charge of the PJ Campus.. the pay must be quite appetizing.haha
I used to run and hide all over the place when i saw MAX 7070..
Now things are so different without Mr.Raj.

Anonymous said...

Yes boys we collected only RM25000 net income from the treasure hunt. A change of activity and mode of collection. Canteen day means 1 month of less effective teaching and learning, but we can collect to as much as RM100,000 profits. I was leaving in end May, so I want all accounts to close, was another contributory factor for the treasure hunt. It was fun.

I woke up on my 41st birthday and made a resolution not to smoke for the day. That 1 day became 2, 2 weeks. 2 months, 2 years... till now. My 3 brothers smoke. During that span of time my brother offered a "stick" and said "smoke, it won't harm you, and you'll not pick up the habit anymore; but to my shock my father appeared and the "stick" flew. I never smoked in the presence of my father. A second time my brother offered a "stick" my father reappeared again, the "stick" flew again; then I decided that it was no smoking anymore. Nothing can change me anymore.

I think you have your answers.

The gym. It's going to be a reality
very soon. Next year we've to organise another money venture to pay for the bills.

I hope I'll get your support, whether you're still in school or out, to raise funds for the school. By next year May/June we should start work. I'll make a desperate appeal to the old boys.

My present pay is a far cry from what I received while I was in school. Too little for the tireless effort I put in everyday.
Probably I'll leave for something more better next year.

And when you see MAX 7070 don't run away. I'll buy you a coffee.

Bai.

Anonymous said...

Great to hear from you sir.
the grapevine tells us that you're planing to move to INTI-Gentings.

and YES we need the sports complex..
we need a proper environment to practice.. so we can compete with other schools.

Mr.Raj is a very sound person.
competent and also sensible.
a very interesting character which makes him a wonderful leader. we will always miss him.

Thanks for the support. Sincerely I want to bring the school up to greater heights; I couldn't 'cos when I came to La Salle, there was
discipline that I was to deal with.
The image of the school was badly tarnished; very few people had good words for the school. I had to work on that first. I never ended (till my last day of school)
trying to improve discipline and improve our image.

If I come back to school in another capacity I would very much appreciate if you boys and girls will give me your best and make La Salle the best, and bring it back to the roaring 70's and 80's.

We can do it. I need your support. The sports complex will be there coupled with other facilities which I feel our boys need. Probably a new canteen and better food. A facelift in total. I need you all by my side then. Thanks.

Today is Sunday, and I'm in my office. Work. Work. Work. I can work. See you later, something to attend to right away. Thanks dah.

Sir, you'll have the highest of respect if you come back. more than the new principal whoever he may be..

not in front of you tho. haha

Anonymous said...

I just came bck from the Candlelight Virgil for Raja Petra. saw Gobind Singh!!! and shook hands with Lim Kit Siang!! our school ain't got such leaders after Mr.Raj left :(

Anonymous said...

It'll be good if our new principal is half as good as mr.Raj.
I mean a principal must believe in the Lasallian ideal, concerned bout the students..not taking it just as a job..

Anonymous said...

Still in the office; special project. Tomorrow 550 nurses from all over the country and Middle East are reporting to campus for a 2 weeks in-house degree programme.

Dai, you're lucky to have seen Gobind and shook hands with Kit Siang. Students can appreciate politics, read politics and understand politics; but don't get involved in POLITICS. Underage.

School days are the most treasured in one's life. I enjoyed my school days. I was punished by teachers, canned, I can't remember but my Maths teacher will heavily knock our clenched fist very, very hard. We were supposed to memorise the 20 X 20 timetables. We would shiver in our pants, we worked hard to memorise.

We did all the naughty things, like fishing with Ngooi Chiew Ing, who got a flat A's in his form 3 public exams. He got a scholarship to go to USA. and I never saw him again.
Chess and scrabble with William Chua and Heng Jee Heng. William went to UK for ACCA while Heng went to USM. We met some time back.
Teoh Choon Seng was my sports rival, kampung mate and classmate. He became a teacher and retired as a GPK KoKu. I see him for every deepavali.
Gan Eng Thai lost in the wilderness
last I heard he was an Engineer with MAS.
Rahman joined the Armed Forces. Heard he's a grandfather.
Lim Ho Cheng, we call him "Loceng" is a chef in Malacca.
I still keep in touch with my standard 1 classmates.
School was fun. Today at the age of 56yrs 5mts, I still love my school.

Learn to appreciate everything around us and we'll find life as a student is fun. Look on the broader scale, there're many teachers who are doing a wonderful job for you. Appreciate their tireless efforts, and you'll forgive those who breathe down your neck.

See you all later, got to go on my rounds and by 11pm to go home.

Bai. goodnite.

Sir, I have heard of F-Troop.
Can you tell me about it?
Thank you sir.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the observations and all your interests in nurses. They nurse the needy or those who are down the 'weather'. Are you in need of the services. Dai, rascals.

There are some of our boys and girls in Mahsa. Such a pleasant face to see in the mornings. They're going to start medicine, anyone who's interested feel free to call me. Facilities are superb but the teaching quality is not known yet. You can have a preview.

F-Troop. Well, it's a long story. Started by the Brothers, in all the La Salle schools. "F" may mean alot of things, but here it refers to an old TV serials in the 50's and in Malaysia in the 60's. It was about a platoon of army personnel's comedy. In that serial there was punishment and penalty for the troop; where they had to line up in the middle of the field in a singlr line, just like what we do in school. Then they will have a thorough inspection, from shoes , socks, finger nails, pants
etc.etc. While in line the ones punished will make us laugh, just like our boys. The F-Troop makes a fool of yourself.

Time for my rounds. Baaaaaaaaaai.

Anonymous said...

Good Afternoon sir,

Mr.Raj has contributed so much..
If Shah Rukh Khan deserves a Datukship, I think La Salle PJ deserves a Datuk Rajenthran.
Excellence Service Award just aint good enough.
wow, F Troop came from a tv series? hahaa

Anonymous said...

Lasallians are pretty much thick-skin.haha but yea.. wealways have a good laugh seeing our friends getting canned is the arse!!

Anonymous said...

Sir, about the new principal for lspj, is there anything we can do now before he/she arrives? as in with the influence that you have in school, is there anyway to set the new principal on the right track before he comes?
for the sake of the school of course.

Anonymous said...

Boys, we have no jurisdiction over the school anymore. Once retired, they treat you like a dog. For instance, there'r many things happening in school which I do not agree but sit still and be dumb.

For instance yesterday, when the school administration sat to decide officers who can be bestowed the 'examplary' award, the list was a surprise to me. I felt that some of them don't deserve it. Imagine the dilemma i'm
in.

Now one of you suggested that we meet the head before he/she reports
and make them see the Lasallian way. They will tell 'no way'. Some might say 'my way is the best way'.

So where do we stand? We carry on as a Lasallian, behave like a Lasallian, think like one, move like one, mature like one, prosper like one and be a total Lasallian.
Teachers come and go, but a Lasallain is always a Lasallian.
La Salle will not change. The spirit in us will not 'evaporate'.

Time for tea. Wanna join me. Come to Mahsa ( UM entrance )before KFC
along Jalan Universiti.

Bai.

Anonymous said...

Yes Sir, i was told that even just a few months before you retired, some of the teachers already stop showing you respect.. they are the bloody hypocrites. I noticed that Mr.Thiru and Mr.Maniam were among your closer pals in lspj.. I hope they are still loyal.
Its similar to what happened to Mahathir after leaving office..
oops...too late for tea now... just got back..
thank you sir for everything you done for us!! sincerely appreciate it!

Anonymous said...

ey ey ey...cakap macam Mr.Raj got cronies all. haha

Bravo Bravo!!! well said Sir :)

lasallepj said...

Good evening Sir,
Well, I personally feel that if we want to house train the new principal, we definitely need the support of Mr.Chua for he is the one who can whisper directly into the ear of the new principal.

Meanwhile, if he/she is the sort of easygoing type like Pn.Sharifah, we're not going anywhere with or without Chua.

Dr.M wrote The Malay Dilemma..
We Lasallians have what we call The Lasallian Dilemma.

I hope the nurses are getting along fine. I'm sure they're occupied with numerous experiments and even some of their own 'experiments' hehehehe

Good Night All

Anonymous said...

Rascals, nurses in your mind. You want to meet some please come over
and I would gladly introduce you some intelligent and morally sound ones. K. In short the DCB's.

Mr Chuah. Well I think he's very sincere in his work. He wants to do many things for us, but I doubt he gets enough support from the staff. He's only a HEM, not the principal. Even when I was there I didn't get the support of all. Some of them wanted their way, they felt my way was not good. But they failed to realise the rot they were in. They were in the rot too long, so they couldn't live without the rot. It was part of their life.

Whereas, another group of teachers
wanted to get out of the rot, so I helped them and they helped me. These teachers didn't have the support, I gave the support. I gave everyone, but some wanted more, some abused it, some didn't want it and some enjoyed it. When this happens in an organisation, cliques form, cronies culture sets in and the most dreadful of them all, "'enemies' in the blanket".

We have many ungrateful people in the world, and some of them I found in La Salle. As a result of that I refrain from coming to school, I avoid coming 'cos I'll bumb into someone who hates me. For instance last Tuesday when I visited school, one of the teachers saw me and treated me as part of the furniture. I didn't feel hurt, 'cos that reflected his standards, moral values and upbringing. I've done many things for him ( you name it ) but in return I've asked him a favour. That's Raj.

Dai, get back to you. I have a sweet young thing that walked into my room. So, get lost you fellows.

Bai.

Anonymous said...

Lasallian Dilemma - very astute.

I think what WE lasallians can do, to bring back the glory days of the '70s and '80s is to remember the lasallian credo that has
been passed down from St. John himself - no one is left behind, everyone is included, no matter how poor or illiterate or disadvantaged you are - YOU ARE A LASALLIAN, AND THEREFORE YOU ARE FAMILY.

Unlike the high-flying schools like Sri Aman and CHS, we exist on scraps thrown by the government - and excel. We must continue to excel, even without Mr. Raj around. With or without the cooperation of the teachers. I think that students are the nucleus of the school- if you notice, teachers don't sing the school rally or school song, padahal they've been in the school longer than most of us have.

Come on, guys, take care of the younger kids. Teach them what it means to be lasallian. Don't let them learn the wishy washy way as they do in afternoon session. Teach them to be Lasallian Men who, even if they do wrong, stand tall and apologize, and then walk out of MD clutching their bottoms :)

But I don't mean that it's ok to display subversive behaviour in class; don't be rude to teachers, don't smoke in toilets or behind the new block, don't play games on your handphone while teachers are teaching, don't skip class saying you have Interact/Leo/prefect/club projects to do, don't drink beer in the chinese shop and then come to class, or bring liquor to school, and most importantly, don't forget to sing the school rally as loud as you can.

Btw, F-troops were really fun :) especially for us prefects.

Be good, boys.

Anonymous said...

It seems like one doesn't feel like a true Lasallian until the ending of form 5.. around this time of year...
then one thinks of all that one could have done but didn't..

I think this blog can function as a mechanism to help nurture our younger brother Lasallians.

Mr.Raj once said:
Nurture Nurture Nature

Walking Disaster said...

Steps to show that you are a true La Sallian.

1. Have racial unity. Very important. Forget about the past (May 13 and all), look ahead. IF our ministers can't do it, we La Sallians can! This can apply for religion too.

2. Give respect to earn respect. I'm sure you guys dislike those prefects who simply shout at your asses thinking they are great right? Well, I understand if you don't respect them. They don't deserve it. Be like Mr Raj, Ex Head Prefects Lee Jun Hoe (03-04), Ganesh Rajah (04-05), these guys gave respect to earn it.

3. Study smart, be street smart too. What's the point of getting straight A's when you are not able to speak properly during an interview? When you can't show confidence in the working world? Again, I would say follow the footsteps of the people mentioned above.

4. Sing the School Rally and School Song with all your heart and soul. Er... Negaraku as well. You are a Malaysian right!? Put those political problems aside (not until you turn 21)

5. Being a gangster is NOT cool. If you are a real man, being a gangster would be the last choice for you. Gangsters are people who covers their sissyness by acting "big".

Got many more lar. I'm sure Mr Raj and myself would be stressing them in future comments.

thanks Jason..good night... cant enter my head now.. have to read it again tomorrow.. haha

Ok... Everyone seems to know me...

Hai Boys, good to hear from you esp
Jason; the others still want to be
anonymous. Well protect your secrecy.

You fellows jealous kah, I got sweet young things here. Come lah.
Someone is thinking of a "Ter-shot-gunned". Growing, growing.

SHS, thanks. good of you to share your thoughts with all of us. I can feel your passion and the vibrations it set in me when reading your comments. Good. That was why I fully supported the blog from the beginning, 'cos I felt that we can communicate and connect with all Lasallians through
out the world. With SHS and Jason, I think we're heading the right direction. Others, care a damn, get out of the shell of "anonymous" and
express yourself.

The boys/girls,yes,you're the
"Nucleus of the school". I think I told many times that you're the "ambassador" of the school, esp
if you're representing the school.
"Take care of the younger kids", wow!!! Hey big brother. You're absolutely right.

Our school song and school rally are 2 different entities. The school song "All through our college..." is the same for all La Salle schools, but the school rally has been adapted to their personal needs.

F-Troop, everyone has fun. I had fun when I was teaching in La Salle
and things didn't change when I came back as a principal. I used to laugh aside looking at the boys in the F-troop.

3 sweet things came to my room. so bai. meeting to attend at 3pm.

La Salle PJ has become more and more empty with the absence of a stern leadership..

It wont take long before anarchy follows. A real escapade for some of the 'monkeys'...And we can't rely too much on the teachers to prevent this catastrophe.
We mustn't trivialise the seriousness of the issue.

gotta go for now.. cheers

Anonymous said...

Be doing and daring as faithful Lasallians in heaven your trust.

Walking Disaster said...

Zi Wei, this is where the prefects step in and show that you guys are not "ball-less" (I'm talking about the guys). Prefects are actually the ones who are supposed to control the students. Ensure the "peace" of the school.

Prefects are students. They think like the students and behave like the students. I have done every stupid thing you can think of, and yes, Mr Yazid gave me his famous ass caning. But I'm sure I have changed much since the day I became a probational prefect.

You can't expect the discipline teachers to watch every movement of the students. It's the prefects' duty to do so, and report it to the discipline teachers. That is why we have prefects from the first to the last class.

You mustn't let Mr Raj's leaving be a barrier for you guys (the prefects). Take it more as a chance to show the devils that you guys can do it without Mr Raj. "A mother must one day let go of her child's hand when crossing the road", a very strong phrase for me. I'm sure Mr Raj has more dreams for SMK LSPJ, which only now you guys and the upcoming breed can make a reality.

Anonymous said...

Jason, Ziwei, thanks. My body literally shrunk and my hair stood on ends when I read your comments.

We don't have a crisis, and don't create one. Stand on your own 2 feet and shake the world.

Lasallians, learn how to lead yourself. We have thought you much in school to lead others and lead yourselves. Make school the way you want it. I wanted to give the school the best, but I was also fighting against the 'monkeys'....
much time and effort spent.

If all us can meet one day and come up with a blueprint or plan for the school, why not. Can all the boys and girls meet, ex-boys and girls too, ex-teachers and ex-heads who are still passionate about La Salle PJ; we'll meet over a weekend. Near school. Leave the venue to me.

Mr Blogger, please pass the word around. Let's have a gathering. Register thro' the blog. K.

I'm at work, an am helping someone Lasallian with accounts. The lasallian is in 1st year Economics and has no sense of accounts. Never studied in school. So boys pick up accounts, you don't know when it will be useful.

Bai. Hope to hear something positive. Thanks.

Some of the prefects are the worst!! they abuse their power. And the head prefect still didn't deliver the things he promised us..
The fast food restaurant like tables... talk like a big hero, deliver nuts.

Anonymous said...

The prefects now have less authority than ever before. Why must they take everything away from us until theres nothing on our plate.. the head boys never deliver anything... even the idea of allowing handphones to school was not Bala's idea...

Anonymous said...

whose idea was it? handphones was introdused by mr raj againsdt the minister's orders. i heard that mr raj went ahead with it, he felt we needed phones for contacts wit parents. bala took the idea from mr raj n became the head prefect. today's head prefect, don't deliver
? why?

Anonymous said...

TOday, we have a weakling as a Head Prefect. and they promise you all sorts of stuff like new canteen seats and all. nothin happens..
I wonder if it wud have been better for all if Jason became Head after Roy left.. Nicky boy didn't seem to be very decisive..

Walking Disaster said...

To the person who said 'deliver nuts':

My church's pastor always said, 'You can do 99 good things, and nobody will remember any of it. But the moment you do one bad thing, everyone remembers it, and they will remind you of it constantly'. You are one of those that remembers the negative. No offense.

Bala, Nicholas, and now Rooban, I'm sure they did their very best. Nicholas had lack of support because he was a "replacement" for Roy, but he didn't let that fact hold him back.

Many of us, being typical Malaysians, tend to focus more on criticizing rather than praising. I too am guilty of that. A simple phrase like, "Don't feel bad, you should be proud that you know you've done your best", can cheer a person up.

Good results takes time and lots of effort. It's not an overnight thing. Professional sports people, scholars, great business leaders. All their achievements took years and many frustrations. The founder of Honda said, "Success is 99% failure", I totally agree with him. Without failing, how are we going to learn?

Life, is not a textbook where you just read and memorize. Life is where you take failures as another step towards success. That is what life is for me.

You should always tell yourself, in whatever line you are in, that if that certain person can do it, so can YOU. Use another person's achievements as a motivation to you. And you must work on it and not just dream about it.

If any of you want to be a principal of a school, follow the footsteps of the principal you think is the best. If you want to be great footballer, follow the footsteps of your favourite footballer.

And I stress again, work more, dream less.

Walking Disaster said...

Who is the new head prefect?

Well, La Salle would be different. Like how La Salle was different with Roy as head, with Nick as head.

Walking Disaster said...

To the guy who wondered:

It's too late to know already.

For me as a Christian, whatever happens is God's plan. You guys know I am a hot tempered person, imagine me being the Head Prefect and someone less hot headed being the Head DO?

By the way, guys, put your names when you comment. How is Mr Raj, or the Ex La Sallians going to keep track on who is saying what?

Walking Disaster said...

To the owner of this blog.

Start a forum. Would be easier to keep track.

In the month of October and November, school and public exams; so we can plan for a gathering say on the 5th December ( Saturday ) for high tea or an "economy" dinner at State Lotus.

It's open to all.

Jason, thanks for your input. I hope our boys can comprehend them and spread the message to others.

Canteen fixtures and fittings, well I'll bring up the problem to Bro Felix and see how we can overcome it. Thanks.

Going for ice-kacang near the gluttons corner near the Old Town market. Bai.

Hi, My view is that many students can't see the urgency to do something about LSPJ..in the comfort zone I think.
After all, it's difficult to see the woods for the trees if one is in the middle of it. haha

Sir, Jason, I totally agree to have a get together and come up with the blueprint..and not forgetting tactics of implementation of our
'A to Z Plan' as we no longer have jurisdiction.
Cheers

wat happened to mr.Raj?

You're right. I've digging into my files and sorting out some unfinished business. For instance tracking down phone calls made from the month of April till Sept.
That's the private sector, every cent counts. The server can track down the calls made from all extentions in the office; but the problem is running thro' the bills and trying to identify the official calls from personal ones.

Boys becareful in the private sector; cutting costs and maximisation of profits.

Dec 13 at 7pm is our OLA Dinner in Subang Golf Club. Everyone is invited; old boys, old girls, present boys and girls; you can bring along your girls/boys friends
provided you pay in RINGGIT. The proceeds go to finance our 50th/Golden Jubilee on the 9th Jan 09
in school. You won't be invited to the launch 'cos you're playing host. It is your function and how can you invite yourself.

The proceeds are kept in the Board of Governor's a/c, and there's complete transparency. Don't worry.
I don't blame you boys thinking we've nothing better to do than to go round soliciting funds and misappropriating it. The money is kept to maintain the school; to provide adequate infrastructure and facilities for the boys/girls.

We've to meet before that; that's why there was a suggestion for the 5th or 6th of Dec. so that we can table the so called 'blueprint' during the dinner to the very, very old boys/girls. We've to present it in a 'power point presentation' coupled with our school rally and school song as the background accompanying music.

Our theme is centred around "What is a Lasallian" and "Where is LSPJ heading". If you have better suggestions, feel free to express and we'll take it from there.

Everyone can start thinking and posting your ideas, and I'll compile it and probably edit it with a group of Lasallians and Bro Felix. I'll present it to you during our meeting. Our meeting can also be in the school hall and we can pay for out drinks and food.
Cheaper in school. Lotus will charge us about RM15 for dinner but the capacity is only 100(with air cond); whereas in school the dinner is only RM10 and the capacity is 400.

Think about it and post your comments.

Got to work dah! I start work at 9am. Bai.

Anonymous said...

I see I see... hmmm.. ok will try to come up with some suggestions.
thanks sir.

Anonymous said...

I support all the way!

Anonymous said...

Bur sir, do you think we can get 100 people who'd attend our little meeting? I'd rather have it in Lotus. haha

Anonymous said...

It's weird to be talking through posts like these to one of my best friends (Hi Jason!) but TIME doesn't allow us to meet as often as we'd like... But I'm glad certain things (like Lasalle PJ) are important enough for us to chuck aside our other priorities.

Good ideas are being brought up here - I like that we've decided to take matters into our own hands :)

I remember giving a speech at the Malaysian Lasallian Educators Conference in 2006. The title was "Lasallian Traditions, Culture, Spirit, Values and Ethos". I spoke about the legacy from St John Baptist which has been passed down to us. Remember his story about educating the poor children in France? That's what we Lasallians aim to do - give everyone an equal chance.

You guys and your ideas are great. I don't think I've been this proud of La Salle since that day in August 2006.

And hey, don't kutuk your head prefects like that! Nick was a good head. I'm the first person to point out all his failings since I was the one dealing with all his failings, but he did very well considering he took over midstream. And the rest of them - Rooban and Arhwin - they just need a chance. You don't know what they're going through from the administration and the teachers and students and prefectorial board. If they're ineffectual, or indecisive, it may be due to the fact that their hands are tied.

Question their decisions, but encourage them. Lasalle was different with Roy as head and Nick as head, true Jason, but not necessarily worse. Back up your heads, boys. No point being warring factions within the same army. Let's not have any more comments here about the current Head being a weakling or inefficient or whatever.

Tan Teng Huat, yum cha bila? We can go over to Mahsa... :)

Anonymous said...

Hey Shang's here too :)
During the Raj era, the prefects had some power. But soon after he left, thing started to fall apart..
Datuk VK Pulen was appointed to be in charge of the prefects.
And he did a pretty good job too :)

But with him poking his nose into every matter, the prefects had began to lose authority. and now becoming only puppets.. I mean look at it now.. I think Khairul may be the only strongman.. he is somewhat like Kenneth..

its only my view.. lolz

Anonymous said...

Like I said:

Don't let Mr Raj's retirement be a barrier to you guys.

I had this negative thought that La Salle would become that gangster school, the way it was before Mr Raj came. But somehow I was proven wrong. Unless those who are still in La Salle are not telling me something.

To Shang:
Saturday nights hard for me to yamcha lar... Got church... Friday night? You guys can join if you want. Own transport!

Anonymous said...

Hai, hai, hai, what power are we talking about? We had our responsibilities, our duties to perform and our role in the system called La Salle.

"La Salle" was a stage, we had to act out our characters and when the
scene was over we had to give way to others. I do not not want to pick on anyone; you came, you performed well (did what you're supposed to do) and you left. From the outside you think your role was the most crucial, most talented
and most important in the play. That's normal.

Now, from the outside we try to understand the 'boys' on stage and what they're going through. Do you want them to go through what you went through. I feel they deserve better. I want to provide them the best. We can, off stage we can perform better. We can see things in a different perspective.

"Don't betray the stage."

Jason, Shang, Ziwei and my other
"angels and angelites", teh tarik, nescafe, fruit juices are best in Mahsa. All on me. Come. Call me first.

The gathering in Lotus is fine for me. I can arrange a small function room which holds about 100 at one go. I will be able to get a discount there. That's the catch.

Work! Work!Work! Bai..........iii.

ziwei (Michael) said...

Good afternoon to all,
5th Dec is fine by me. it's a day after my last paper.
We can then go through it thoroughly to plan our watertight blueprint.

Gotta go.

Sorry boys. Sorry. On Deepavali, I was away but back to work on Tuesday (day after deepavali). Happy deepavali to all my lasallian
brothers and sisters. Belated.

Neither my heart rules my head nor
my head rules my heart; somewhat the 2 in a balance. My comments are mine and I'm totally responsible for what I say. No one can influence me but I listen to everyone, big or small, young or old, black or white. Ok boys.

6th Dec is on, venue is still unsure. The numbers to be present and those still undecided is frightening. Less than 100 will be in Lotus, any number more than that will be in school (hall or tarmac). I'll try to get the La Salle Brothers, ex-teachers and the OLA to be present.

Sorry, I was down with work. I had to clear many things that needed immediate attention. I'm in my office now, Sunday?????

Sad to hear and see our school going to pieces. I cannot take it. Why? That was why I was keen on this blog when the boys started it. Thought that your anger and frustrations can be directed here;
this blog was the buffer. What happened should not have happened,
'cos it will frighten the Form 1 and 2 boys who're in school. It was an uphill task to get them and convince their parents that our school is not like other schools in the region. I promised them a universal education, holistic education, a Lasallian education.
All my dreams and aspirations also burnt to ashes.

Lasallians, we must stop this. Get
the culprits, I know you can get them. Engage spies and keep your ears and 'nose' open. You smell anything, please report in the blog. We'll take action together.
Prompt action.

Set me thinking too; why did the boys resort to this. Is there anything happening in school that we don't know? Why? I need more info. I'll do my best to rectify or help. Keep posted. Thanks.

Dai, my kampung also got internet lah. No time to pen a few lines. Busy.

The OLA Dinner is on the 13th Dec
at Subang Golf Club. RM70 per head. Anyone interested call me with the cash in hand. It will be fun there. Girls, your're part of the family; you also can come lah

Bai.-

Dear sir,
Some are saying that the guardhouse was burnt by some of the motorbikers from form4 or 5.
because the pak-guard would write down their plate number each time they went off early.

Hmmm... lets see who could possibly benifit from this?
the contractor?
But not likely la...haha

Anonymous said...

Sir, it must be really loads of work in the private sector eh?
cheers

Anonymous said...

Work, yes. The private sector squeezes your every drop of .......
(whatever you can imagine). That's life; nobody will give you a fairly comfortable pay and make you sleep in office. So, you guys out there, be prepared to dig and toil when you join the working force. When you're used to long hours of work, without hoping for a kickback, then, you're satisfied with your employers. YOU LEARN THAT IN LA SALLE.

I read one '88 boy responding to our blog. GOOD. Those were one of the hey days of La Salle. Great, keep it up boy. We need you to come back to school, and share your experiences with the present boys. Probably the 6th of Dec. K?

The guardhouse, well a lesson to learn. Steer the ship on course and we'll not hit the bottom. Don't blame any quarters; blame all
Let the school authorities take up the case and settle it.

Thanks. I'll pen later. K boys.

Dai. You boys really know how to touch my heart. The beauty of La Salle is "touching hearts". When I served in LSPJ, in the '80s as a teacher and athletics manager, and later came back as head; I was reaching out to all Lasallians.

In the '80s, I would come to school
approximately 7am, teaching form 4,
5 and 6. Had the pleasure of teaching PJK, 'cos I was then the MSS Malaysia Chief Coach/Trainer for Athletics. So summoned my skill
and knowledge to teach PJK. When PJK is on in the mornings, I would simultaneously conduct my athletics
training for the form 1 and 2 boys.
The boys will train till 10.30am, then they'll wash up, go for their refreshments/breakfast and sit in the canteen attending to their home
work.

The morning boys will start training at about 3.30pm (1st batch) and the second batch(4.00pm)
and the third batch(4.30pm). This was tailormade for their different
training programs and to accomodate
to their tuition classes. We'll train till 6.30-7.00pm. After that will be talk-cock sessions, A & W or under the trees (depending on which quarter of the month). I'll reach home say around 9, 9.30 or 10

We'll train 5 days, 6 days and sometimes 7 days a week. Those who are absent will get "hell", but the "hell" was fun. We had fun during training, the boys had a great sense of discipline and most of all the support of the parents.
Bro Felix was my Principal then; he never questioned us at all, 'cos we brought fame to LSPJ and success after success. We were the best school in the country then
'cos our boys bring many gold medals at the MSSM National Championships.

Hey, enough of stories. I've to work. Later. Bai..........

Anonymous said...

wow!! the good old days indeed.
Is it still possible for us to bring back those glorious days without the sports complex? coz if we could, then might as well spend the money on other things. the school library perhaps. thanks Sir.

Hey guys. Since the meeting is from 4pm - 6pm.
My church is having a fun fair at Methodist Primary School (I was from that school so no insults please) from 10am till 5pm. Would you guys like to drop by? The coupons are sold for 20 Ringgit per book. Let me know if you guys need.

About the burning of the guardhouse. My one respond is that the people who done it are cowards. They won't confront the main problem.

I was a problem to some of the students because I always sent them to DC and all. And what they did? Puncture my car tire... Wouldn't it be better if they just talked to me?

Anonymous said...

Actually, recently some of the cars of form sixers have been punctured too. they used to park along jalan chantek.. I know of atleast 2 cases.
and they were normal students.not even prefects.
oh well..
Methodist Primary School eyy?
lolz see la..
cheers

Anonymous said...

I wouldnt have known if you didnt say it. could it be the stones at the side of the road?

Anonymous said...

No. I took it to the tire shop. The guy found a giant screw. And according to him, the way the screw was pushed in, it had to be someone doing it.

Hmm serious? Could it be one of those residents there unhappy that they parked there? I know the house to the right of the guardhouse has a sign saying "No Parking Here". I saw that sign when I came back for Mr Raj's retirement, and said, 'The road doesn't belong to you' and parked there. Hehe

Anonymous said...

HAha thats the way jason.
Yeah that stupid sign : NO PARK HERE.
A nail ey? i see i see.
kk

Anonymous said...

Sir, so it means that you would have to book the hall in Lotus State right? wasn't it the place where your retirement dinner was held?

Anonymous said...

The hall at Lotus State can take in approximately 100, can squeeze in a few more. Yes boy, my retirement dinner was held there. I
can arrange a simple high tea for all.

The idea is not the 'crumbs', but the idea of a get together prior to the OLA dinner on the 13th Dec.
The OLA dinner will be a good platform to put forward the ideas of the future of LSPJ and we should be able to secure the support of our seniors.

I want the boys/girls to spread the news and please start to state your ideas through this blog. I want your ideas, young and vibrant ideas,

Get back to you later. visitors. Thanks and bye.

Adam Lim said...

Dear Sir,

Hands down, the curernt crop of students are either too pampered, ill mannered or/and egositic as compared to the many bathces down the road. As things progress over time, it is getting out of control. Even over here in Terengganu (final year university), i've gotten news that some have even resorted to extortion of the primary school boys (source of information = classified).

Cleary these boys have thought they have endured it all and very much think they are capable of handling anything that comes along. Which is this case they are so wrong. They have no idea what is ahead of them.

I would suggest that we master out a plan in various phases to adress to the problem at hand. for example:-

- invite some current university student ( former student) to give a short talk on Campus life (in other state), achivements, goals and the future planning. This is to give an idea what is to aspect in the near future.

- invite someone who is currently working to tell about the working life. ( doctors, lawyers, engineers) or maybe some not everyday profession like myself as a future Marine Biologist

- Encourage or plan out new school activities such as local community (not always we have to clean the school grounds), Zoo volountering work, nature studies or expeditions, and my favourite Conservation work and awareness prgrams)

As we run the program, this gives the student a view of what is out there. Although most ideas do come at a cost (Money) but what matters most the the first hand experiances = priceless.

Cheers

Hello Sir and Hi to all.
As we know, it is compulsory for every student of lspj to join 1 Club, 1 society, and 1 uniform body.
the plan is great. But the implementation is not there. So, many students just do nothing until their are form5.. then they'd get go to teachers like En. Hasbullah and En. Eddy to sign their cocuricular points. And both of them gives A for Silat, Taekwondo and Kadet sekolah.
By doing that, students dont get the chance to integrate.
maybe we can do something about it.
cheers

Walking Disaster said...

I agree with what Adam said about teenagers being egoistic, ill mannered and pampered.

I couldn't believe my ears when the guys at LSPJ complain that it is hot. And they would all be fighting for the shady area of the tarmac. What even surprises me more is that some of them are in the BB, Scouts, PBSM. Are their skin that sensitive to UV rays?

About egoistic, erm... Leo, Interact Club. Most of them are there, for the glamor, they don't really mean it when they take part in charity events. Prove, they complain, people don't complain if they really want to be charitable. Can get girls mar...

And ill mannered... No need to say much, do they even greet the teachers now? The teachers are so used to not being greeted, whenever I greet them, they somehow look surprised.

I believe the implementation of taking part in after school activities is important. I don't want La Salle to be known just for producing A students, I want La Salle to be used as an example of an "A" school. One with intelligent students, mentally and physically. On the after school activities part, parents are partly to be blamed. Some students I know wants to take part in football, basketball, debating club, but they can't cause their parents sends them for tuition. Lucky for me, my parents let me take part in after school activities. Afterall, we DON'T study all the time. I get ticked off when people tell me, "Exam coming la, have to study", and at that moment they are not holding any books.

I really fear for the future generation, cause I don't think they would be able to fend for themselves. Some of the younger ones at my church don't even know how to take a bus to Midvalley Megamall! I hope they know how to boil water...

My lecturer made this statement which I agreed fully and is guilty of it. The teenagers now, can forget to bring their house keys, their books, their wallet, BUT never can forget to bring their handphone whenever they leave their house.

La salle PJ has been much more than just a school for me. It's been a grindstone and knocking my head here and there really helped in growing up. Well there are plenty of prima donnas in school and sometimes we have to live with.
One of the issues we should address on DEC 6th I think should be Nepotism in school.
It happens all the time.

Sir, how do we confirm the amount of guest who are going to attend the Blueprint on December 6?

Hai Boys. Just could find some time to pen a few lines which was ringing in my head. The past few days I was down with work; preparing the PJ Campus to look good for an official visit from the Min. of Higher Education. They want to evaluate us in order to give us university status.

I like the handphone culture. 15 years ago when handphones came into Malaysia; it was odd to see a man hanging on the phone 'cos a call( 1 min ) was worth 60 cents.
Today it is far cheaper and multifunctional. You can even msg Assunta girls for answers during the monthly exams. Ureka.

1. Nepotism.
2. Talks at assemblies.
3. Reaching out to the community.
4. Irresponsible teachers.
5. Service orientated clubs
- Interact
- Leo
- Scouts
- Form 6 Society
not performing up to the mark. It should be service not "socialising"
6. Co-curricular activities, not as active as it was in the 60's,
70's or 80's. National team soccer
players came from LSPJ. To name a few, hockey, badminton, tenis and
athletics.

What else boys; come out with ideas. I want one of you to present it on the 13th of Dec, OLA dinner. The impact will be great if it comes from one of you. Any volunteers. Girls also can, but please be bold. The future of the school is at stake.

I'm a sentimental fool; I feel what I'm today is being a Lasallian
I managed to climb my professional
ladder; 'cos I picked up alot of good values from LSPJ. My formative and growing years. Bro Felix has been very good to me. He wants the school on a firmer footing, and that's why I'm still hanging around. I owe him.

You too. We shall give something to the school. It's not money alone, but the support and love. It is all said in our school song.

I've to get home; still in the office. Time for the family. Bai.

Sir, in the Lasalle Blueprint, can we try to bring back some authority for the prefects?
They dont seem to have that sort of 'respect' anymore.
thank you sir.
cheers

About the prefects.

Think I've mentioned it in my earlier post.

The prefects have lost their values of being a prefect. Most of them are doing it for the marks.

You can tell a person who really wants to be a prefect and a person who just wants to be a prefect.

Just a simple question, "Why do you want to be a prefect?" or "What do you do as a prefect?". Their answer will show whether they really have the passion to be one.

Some might disagree with me, but I'd definitely put a big F on anyone who says "To improve my own discipline". Why? For discipline, join a uniform body. Prefects are there to maintain the discipline of the school, not themselves.

Anonymous said...

Prefects who are all semangat are known are 'sap'
There aint many of them these days.
Many of them had joined for the marks and most of all for the 'protection'.. you know.. the little perks given and stuff.

But whether a not they have good prefects in the board, there should be given more authority I fell.
with that authority to begin, they will gradually take in better and more responsible fellas.
The power and the good guys,
like the chicken and the egg.

The activities of prefects are merely doing duty nowadays..
And unity my foot!! haha

So when the prefects are given more authority such as making students do push-ups on the spot,
students will fear the prefects.
then, they'll want to join the board.. so, with many applications, we can pick the cream de la cream.

So please give the chicken first, it will lay the egg and be able to protect it till it's big enough.
hmmmm.....
cheers

Prefects to be given authority to order a student to perform "push-ups" insitu?

Thats what you mean by authority? I fear it will bring more problems than helping the cause. Please take such matter seriously and not post ideas for the sake of posting up here in Mr. Raj's coloumn.

Lets look at the big picture here, Before everyone starts to debate about this "prefects" matter, lets just go back to the main questions itself.

"Ideas to help the school return back to order"

So please contribute relevant ideas that may actually HELP the school rather than an individual body. If you think the "Prefect" are going to be the schools saviour, heck then we won't even need to gather the alumni to discuss the matter at hand. The prefects can handle it all.

Don't get me wrong, I am not being mean here nor am I an Anti-prefect. I am just trying to point out the fact that we people need to respect Mr. Raj here a little more. Please contribute relevant ideas in return to the question at hand rather than direct the main topic off course.

This is for the better of the school that some of us have fond memories of and for you those who are currently still students there currently.

Enough being said. Lets get back to the main topic.

"Ideas that will contribute in restoring order in LSPJ"

Peace Out.

Yup!! the prefects can fight for themselves.. let them do their thing.
Arh.. this just came to me...
They are currently punishing students caught for disciplinary problems by making them pick up rubbish..
what say we make them wash toilets instead?
I mean it would be more embarrassing and so hopefully they will learn to behave a little.
just a thought

jasontantenghuat said...

The post before mine is someone who has a grudge against prefects.

Speaking about giving respect to Mr Raj. Didn't he ask you guys to post your name on your posts? The reason he wants you guys to put your name there is so that he can identify each one of you.

My opinion, punishments like picking rubbish, cleaning toilet is not going to work. La Sallians are known for taking a swipe at any chance to skip class.

I still liked the days of public caning. I can still remember the swing of Mr Yazid's rotan. Really hurts! Trust me...

For us to be able to restore La Salle, we must first identify the major problem. Which now, I guess is discipline. Then we have to branch out, why are the students, not all, behaving like hooligans?

Actually from my observation, La Sallians are actually quite "angelic" compared to some other schools, in terms of just looking at the image. I've seen guys with the emo rock hairstyle, pants torn at the bottom, shirt tugged-out.

Ahhh!! exam exam..
I think mr. Raj said that he respected our anonymity.
ahhaaha
study study. ciao

jasontantenghuat said...

He did. But he suggested it's better you guys put your names.

At least at the blueprint he can refer to your suggestions as yours. Not some nameless person.

1. Nepotism.
2. Talks at assemblies.
3. Reaching out to the community.
4. Irresponsible teachers.
5. Service orientated clubs
- Interact
- Leo
- Scouts
- Form 6 Society
not performing up to the mark. It should be service not "socialising"
6. Co-curricular activities, not as active as it was in the 60's,
70's or 80's. National team soccer
players came from LSPJ. To name a few, hockey, badminton, tenis and
athletics.

My view: Nepotism is going away these days in most clubs. However, in clubs like Interact and Leo, nepotism is overwhelming. Teachers should HAVE ACTUALLY ELECTIONS INSTEAD OF PICKING THEIR OWN BOOTLICKERS! One great example is this year's INTERACT BOD!!! However, I would like to commend the prefectorial board this year for electing only those who truly deserve and not based on popularity, friends or seniority. This made many people mad but you have my support.

Anonymous said...

2. Talking at assembly shouldn't be one of the main issues here as it just comes to show that discipline is not enforced properly. This problem should be noted as prefectorial board leadership vacuum. This was due to the previous board failing to enforce rules because they themselves were breaking it! Now, the current board is having a hard time eliminating this dysfunctionality in the system.

3. Reaching out to the community .

Come on. As hard as it to face, this generation of La Sallians are either LAZY or SELF CENTRED. Most of them never even bothered about Mr. Raj's last project (treasure hunt). What more, going around Seksyen 5 and asking for donations or even just promoting the school events in other ways! The only way to combat this problem is implementing CHS way of minusing the total marks of students who fail to attend school events without any valid reason! Another way, is to somehow instill peer pressure inside the student community to help the school (this is tough but possible). Or force the unit beruniforms to get the movement going. Trust me, La Sallians are very obliging to these uniform bodies.

4. Teachers

When I first came La Salle, I really appreciated some teachers who really cared for the school. The sports teachers and some subject teacher were probably the only reason people realise LA Salle still exist. These teachers stay back after to school to provide project tips or even to increase the stamina of a selected group of students. These special group of teachers I called them with respect example:(Mr. Pubalan)
The other group were the lazy ones. Who enter class and don't bother whether you understand or not! these teachers we call them by their NAME!!! These sort of bacteria even linger among those who are supposedly hardworking. Some teachers just take charge of societies and competitions without even giving a single damn about their "contigent". Even worse, some of them expect to WIN national competitions without even helping their STUDENTS!!!

WELL SAID MR. RAJ. As a student in the morning session, I realised this overgrown idocracy happening in these societies. I was part of one of the so-called charity clubs above, and trust me, ALL The teacher in charge cared about was awards!!! while the students only wanted to be a BOD so that they can get chicks and for the less civilised ones, get LAID!!! NO JOKE! Anyone reading this will remember the Genting case this YEAR!! We can't depend too much on F6 society as they are busy. Scouts i believe are already a class above the rest. Just charities clubs SHOULD DO charity instead of trying to get their clubs more money so that they can dance ALL NIGHT LONG (IU ) ONLY TO DONATE LESS THAN 25% of the money they spent on the events to charity. Stupid right?

Badminton, I believe who have great ability in the afternoon session. By 2010, we can have a posibility of emerging as district champions overall IF ONLY SOMEONE CAN APPOINT A MORE DEDICATED TEACHER TO COACH. Not that the current one is bad but when he says practice 2-5. He comes at 3 and leaves at 4!!! Not like he actually has so much stuff to do!! YOU KNOW WHO HE IS! I must however commend him for his great motivational talks, but a bit more coaching, esp. higher level stuff is much more appreciated for those who are A CLASS ABOVE THE REST!!!

Hockey.
As I said la Sallians are lazy. They will train two days in two weeks and think they can WIN!

Boxing.
I must note that this sport has the TRULY EXEMPLARY LA SALLIANS. We should follow them. They may not be smart nor rich but they spirit while training is superb. When they lose, they don't sulk, they work much harder. These people should be awarded sportsman of the year instead of giving SOME, i mean SOME runners who smoke the award. I write according to what i witness not what I hear! Trust me!

Tennis:
We should get A PROPER COACH NOT OUR DEDICATED BUT WHINING TEACHER.(you know who)

Athletics:
I have to say his name because he is by far the greatest teacher i have ever seen in my life. Mr. Subra's commitment if truly exemplary. He stays back after school on some days, or even goes to the track to train students on others without abandoning is JOB. THe problem is NOT THE TEACHER INVOLVED IN TRACK AND FIELD BUT RATHER THE STUDENTS. Our long distance team is great to say the least. However there are some who smoke and get involved with gangsterism. our sprint team are the let down of the school. They are a bunch of cocky people who are satisfied once they achieve 'sprint king' status in school level!!! this is the same cause of the meltdown in Malaysian sporting standards!

AJ:

When giving opinions. You don't use harsh terms like "stupid right". Or tones showing that you can do better. Well if you can then you have to prove it. Whatever I say in my previous posts are all based on my experience in doing prefect duties, being a problematic student and a representative in the football team.

Don't ever dig up the past as some people want to forget it. Mr Raj never reminds me of how a problematic student I was but he does remind me of how much I've changed after I became a prefect.

Now that you've mentioned the Genting issue. Many people would want to know what happened, even me.

About previous prefectorial board being put to blame for how the students look at them. True to a certain extend, but how sure are you that the problem didn't crop up with this current board? The students were quiet when I became a prefect, and they still are after I left. It is always easier to blame than to be blamed.

On Badminton, that's like the only sport Malaysia is going to be good at. But Chong Wei himself is showing a bad example. I only remembered Boon Heong as a La Salle gangster, not a badminton player. So the person himself must play a good role, not just the coach.

we should just freely express ourselves here. No big deal if we mention some of the old 'shit' that happened b4.. very interesting.
haha
AJ really shared alot. thanks!!

Sorry about the harshness though, if you felt offended. By the way, Genting issue is past and since some people hate the past because they believe learning from it WON'T correct the present, let the issue be.
Anyway, I will like to listen to more views as I loved my 7 years in La salle, and hope I will like my final year next year. I really hope this school can reach some standards at least by 2012. Forgive me if my efforts to increase the standards fell short for those who know me.

Badminton: Read Mr. Raj's experience on the earlier comments. How the 80's athletic team were DISCIPLINED. This in turn brings success to a coach's understudy. As hard as it is to admit, but people esp. La sallians (the sporty ones) only are disciplined under an EVEN DISCIPLINED COACH. One good anology is Coach Carter (movie) or better still Mr. Raj. That is how pivital a coach's role IS.

Not to be mean or anything, but since we are being very "cool" with each other, I'll write as though I am writing to a close friend. : Since you said it is better to forget about the past and not bring it up, not that I am against your wishes but please answer my curiousity: Why did you ask me: "exact quote"

Now that you've mentioned the Genting issue. Many people would want to know what happened, even me.

Anonymous said...

Quote me on this. The past propels the present, to soar to greater heights. It should be very helpful in all our endeavours!

P.S: Sorry I have many comments, I find this way easier than writing one long one with different categories.

Anonymous said...

About the Genting issue.

I assume that whatever happened there was not good. So I'm sure those who were involved in it would want to keep it quiet.

Many "uneventful" things happen to people which they would want to forget. But at times it's their friends that reminds them.

Anonymous said...

well said. just to clarify that the issue was with people who are one year younger than me and not people I know well. Don't worry, you don't have to answer my questioning of the contradiction you make with your self.

the field; the tarmac etc etc.

Don't bicker. We're made of better stuff. We're all entitled to our opinion. Thanks. I love reading them. They all made sense, thanks again.

Ziwei and Shangari, were around in Mahsa. We talked alot. Trying very hard to get a report prepared to present during the OLA dinner on 13th Dec.

Boys, the blog is good; we're all connected; let's stay connected.

Sorry for the long absence; had to attend to many professional and personal demands. Dead.

14th to 28th Dec. I'll be away with my family; South India. Will Pray for all. Bai.
